The Los Angeles Beirut Sister City Organization was established to create a bridge of understanding and friendship between the residents of these two great cities and to foster cultural, social and business exchange.
We reach out to all who wish to foster goodwill between the two cities to contribute to our goals.

About "Sister Cities":
The American "Sister Cities" program was established in 1956 by President Dwight Eisenhower. Since 1967 it has been administered by Sister Cities International (SCI), which is a nonprofit citizen diplomacy network creating and strengthening partnerships between U.S. and international communities.
Sisterly ties were officially established on June 30th, 2006 during a signing ceremony between members of the Los Angeles City Council, the Mayor of Beirut, and the VP of the Beirut City Council.
